The Financial Times is pleased to partner with Lloyd's Register Foundation for their latest digital event: Understanding Risk - Insights from the World Risk Poll, to announce and debate the results of the first Lloyd’s Register Foundation World Risk Poll, powered by Gallup. The poll is based on 150,000 interviews in 142 countries and is the largest study of the risks the world fears and faces. This includes insights from countries where little or no official data exists, yet where risks and injuries reported in the poll are often high. The results of the poll will be followed by analysis from expert speakers who will use the poll’s findings to inform future actions that make the world safer. The discussion will focus on three key areas within the study:
Leaders discuss their reaction to the World Risk Poll findings in relation to food safety, and reflect on how the poll’s data can help them to mitigate risk from food.
Leaders discuss their reaction to the World Risk Poll findings in relation to safety at work and reflect on how the poll’s data can help them to mitigate workplace risks.
All over the world, innovative individuals are helping their communities understand and address new risks. Here they share the challenges and breakthroughs of this experience.
